Composting
March 29th, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Join us on March 29th for this informal Coffee & Conversation event, which will focus on the basics of composting. Terry Craghead, Founder & CEO of Fertile Ground Cooperative, will discuss different methods of composting and the benefits of compost, and John Leonard and Nick Needham, Mollie Spencer Farm staff, will discuss how compost is made and used on the Farm. The event will include time for Q&A and a visit to the Mollie Spencer Farm compost pile!
Vegetable Gardening
April 12th, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Join us on April 12th for a Coffee & Conversation event focused on vegetable gardening! Local experts will discuss how to prepare healthy soil, decide what vegetables to plant and when to plant them, and tend to plants once they are in the garden. The event will include time for Q&A and a walk in the Mollie Spencer Farm vegetable garden!
Beekeeping in Your Backyard
May 10th, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Join us May 10th for a Coffee & Conversation event focusing on beekeeping in an urban setting! Local experts will talk about bee biology, including the different types of honey bees and their roles in the hive. They will then discuss the basics of beekeeping, bee safety, and hive maintenance. We will end with a Q&A session and the opportunity to view Mollie Spencer Farm bees in an observation hive!
Water Gardens
May 17th, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Join us on May 17th for a Coffee & Conversation focused on water gardening! Local experts will discuss how to create and care for water gardens and ponds. This Coffee & Conversation will take place during our Spring Open House – after the talk is over, we encourage you to explore the Farm and learn more about our interests!
